The Machinic Dreams the Future into Being is a speculative film made using machine learning trained on 1000 photos of the Limehouse foreshore at low tide. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are having a profound effect on the present and this will intensify in the future. Speculative narratives of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and its relationship to capitalism can help navigate and reroute these transformative technologies. The film is part of a series of speculative workshops around the ethics and politics of AI that aim to develop alternative technological and social imaginaries.
