HOW ARE YOU FEELING? was a project launched on Saint Valentine’s Day in 2019.

For the first exhibition at TriO, the community space within The Sunken Garden Community Orchard on Attlee Terrace housing estate in Walthamstow, artist Rebecca Thomson filled the building with a fortune-telling fish 20 times its original size.

The show was curated by contemporary arts organisation The Drawing Shed. Participants were invited into the space for a palm reading with the artist, led by a true version of the fish. They offered and exchanged stories of jealousy and passion, whatever emotion the fish indicated.

Integral to the work was the zine 14.2 printed at Rabbits Road Press. 14.2 had a fortune fish inside, to be taken home by participants. The zine acts as a relic of the brief, intense relationship between artist and participant at an exhibition heavy with the milieu of Saint Valentine.
