A Digital Map of interactive walks in Kent using Locative Media + Literature .

A Different Lens makes connections between how we overcome challenging events in our lives, through the writing of visually-impaired authors. Artists’ responses to the texts form a virtual walk around Margate using an interactive online map which uses locative media to create a rich interactive experience in and around the town that can be followed at home or walked ‘on location’ with mobile phone. A Different Lens is one of the shortlisted works for the Sound Walk September 2020 Awards.

Elspeth Billie Penfold is a textile artist who brings her experience of teaching and research into performative works . In 2012 she formed a group called Thread and Word. Through call-outs she works collaboratively to develop work with a focus on materials and process, using walking as a method to explore creativity.
